Sovereign voice telephony engineering
How VoiceReach achieves sub 500 millisecond conversational turn times over standard 8kHz cellular phone lines across Nigeria.
The 8kHz telephony challenge
Most modern AI voice agents are designed for high fidelity 48kHz audio streams inside web browsers or mobile apps with high speed fiber internet. Standard cellular phone lines operate on narrow band 8kHz G.711 or GSM codecs over lossy radio channels.
VoiceReach was built from scratch for telecommunications realities. A custom dual sample rate audio bridge resamples incoming 8kHz carrier audio to 16kHz for speech recognition, filters background engine noise and street sounds, and streams audio back in telephony compliant formats.
The four stage real time pipeline
Carrier Audio Ingest
Accepts direct SIP trunking from carriers and telecom providers over UDP Port 5060 with low jitter buffer management.
Streaming Multilingual ASR
CTranslate2 and faster whisper models fine tuned for Nigerian English, Pidgin, Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo speech.
N ATLaS 8B Reasoning
Edge quantized LLM inference running locally on ARM64 NEON with strict deterministic guardrails and workflow graphs.
Neural Speech Synthesis
Low latency streaming TTS streaming expressive Nigerian audio directly back onto the carrier channel.
Sovereignty and data safety
VoiceReach does not export sensitive caller voice records to third party offshore servers. Audio processing, model execution, and transcript generation occur locally within sovereign infrastructure boundaries in full compliance with Nigerian Data Protection Regulations (NDPR).
